Highway 59 West Reconstruction

The Highway 59 reconstruction west of Whitewater will begin on July 26. The DOT project starts at the city limits and stops at the Walworth/Rock County lines west of the city. The project mainly is a milling of the existing surface and new asphalt. The project will have a detour while the work is being completed. Hwy 59 will be routed the Hwy 12 bypass to Hwy N (Walworth Ave) west to Hwy 26 and then south on Hwy 26 into Milton. The project completion date is expected to be September 2, which is before Labor Day. The contractor for this project is BR Amon of Elkhorn.
A public information meeting was held on July 21st at 6pm in the Cravath Lakefront room at City Hall.
