Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water and sewer service; water quality; maintenance of vehicles, streets, facilities, parks, and many public projects.

DeanFischerDean Fischer has served as Director of Public Works since 1991. Dean’s responsibilities include managing the Water Utility, Wastewater Utility, Stormwater Utility and Street Department as well as handling developer agreements, contracts and budgeting. Dean is a Certified Grade IV Wastewater Operator. In 1991 Dean was recognized as the Southeast Region Wastewater Operator of the Year. Prior to becoming Director of Public Works, he worked for 20 years with the City’s Wastewater Utility.
